Meet Julie Peterson

I grew up on a farm in North Dakota, knowing first hand the value of hard work. I attended the University of North Dakota, where I earned a B.A. with a major in Communications and a minor in Political Science, followed by a law degree graduating with distinction.

I began my legal career in northern Minnesota as a judicial law clerk, and then as an associate attorney in private practice in Fargo, ND. I then relocated to Hawaii where my now-husband had begun his 13-year career as a pilot in the active duty military. In Hawaii, I served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Hawaii. As part of a military family, we have lived in Alabama, Hawaii, Washington, California, and Florida. My husband and I relocated to Plymouth in 2014 where we are raising our three busy boys, ages 12, 10, and 6.

I am currently a practicing corporate attorney for a regional entity focused on the reliability of the electric grid, and have prior experience in the payments technology industry, with a strong background in governance. I am a member of the Plymouth Charter Commission, a trained community mediator, and a member of Braver Angels, an organization focused on combatting polarization.

I am focused on providing leadership first for all Plymouth residents.
